While surfing the web for helpful teaching sites, I came across a site called A to Z Teacher Stuff. This site can come in handy for many teachers. It contains everything from lesson plans to tips for teachers on various subjects. There is a section of the website that allows teachers to search for information by theme. This way if a teachers, for example, is about to teach a section on National Poetry Month, they can go to that theme and get links for different sites that have related information.
The “Hipteacher’s” Advice August 22, 2007
I located a blog by “Hipteacher”. This blog is her way of telling the things that she thinks about in regards to preplanning and relating to students. She gives adivice to other teachers of the do’s and don’ts of students. For example, in the blog “Tips for New Teachers” she suggests that new teachers know when grades are due and try to have them ready the day before and don’t get involved with co-workers. She also advises that if the teacher has an account on Facebook or Myspace they should not let their students be their friends on the sites because they can find out personal things about your life that you may not want them to know.
Review of Bud the teacher Post August 20, 2007
When I was looking over the blog of different teachers, I found myself in agreement with Bud the teacher. He feels that we cannot ingnore the tools themselves when looking at how modern technology effects the classroom.. On problem with encouraging students to blog or venture into the internet is tha lack of protevtion for the student. They are many “whack jobs” on the internet that we need to protect students from. This is a difficult problem to overcome.
Another issue that can effect the use of technology in the class room is the fact that the world is always changing. Programs are always updating, machinery and software is constantly becoming obsolete which can make keeping up very difficult.
